Expert Care by a Paediatric Intensivist!
LB Nagar | King Koti
Severe breathing problems, serious infections, prolonged seizures, major injuries or recovery after a big operation can need intensive care. M’Brace’s PICU provides close monitoring and organ support, led by a paediatric intensivist.
How M’Brace Cares for Critically Ill Children
Intensive care supports breathing, circulation and the brain while the underlying illness is treated, then reduces that support as your child improves.
01
Breathing, circulation and consciousness are assessed and supported as soon as your child arrives.
02
Blood tests, imaging and specialist input identify what is driving the illness.
03
Oxygen, ventilation, fluids, medicines and nutrition are adjusted hour by hour.
04
Your child moves to the ward once stable, with the same paediatric team following up.
Why Choose Us
Care is led by a consultant paediatrician and paediatric intensivist with IDPCCM training in paediatric critical care, working with the Professor and Head of Paediatrics and consultant paediatricians. As a paediatric intensive care unit in Hyderabad within NABH- and NABL-accredited Kamineni Hospitals, the PICU can call on surgery, neurology, radiology and laboratory teams in the same hospital, with 24/7 emergency and transport support.

Frequently Asked Questions
What parents most often ask when their child is in intensive care.
The NICU cares for newborns, mostly in the first weeks of life. The PICU cares for older babies and children who become critically ill or need close monitoring after surgery or injury.
Many children need only a few days, while others with severe illness may need longer. The team reviews progress daily and moves your child to the ward as soon as it is safe.
A ventilator takes over breathing while the lungs or brain recover, reducing strain on the body. It is temporary and is removed gradually as your child improves.
The team uses regular pain relief and sedation to keep your child comfortable, and checks comfort levels frequently, especially during procedures.
Parents are encouraged to be with their child as much as possible. Talking to and touching your child helps, even when sedated, and nurses explain what you can do.
The intensivist explains your child's condition, treatment and plans, and updates you whenever something changes. You can ask questions at any time.
